The Stihl RG-KM is designed to remove weeds from gravel and hard surfaces without the use of weed killing chemicals. The RG-KM can also be used to trim grass in areas where there is a chance of debris damaging property and vehicles because unlike a conventional brushcutter nylon line head or metal blade head the blades on the RG-KM are low-spin and oscillate a bit like how a hedge cutter or scythe cutter works so there is less chance of debris being projected about.
